She worked in various roles over her tenure at VX in areas of strategy, corporate program leadership, commercial and revenue development, and technology areas including eCommerce, reservations systems and guest products. She ended her time with the company as the Virgin America leader of the integration of the merger with Alaska Airlines. Amy came to Virgin America after working at Continental Airlines in revenue management and corporate development. Amy earned her MBA from Moore School of Business at University of South Carolina and a BS in Applied Health Sciences from American University in Washington DC.

Favorite travel memory: “My husband and I visit St. Thomas often. On one of our first trips we took a ferry to St. John and hiked from the docks up into the hills, ending at an amazingly beautiful beach. The hike took us through some ruins, and to the top of the island with spectacular views. Arriving down at the beach and spending the afternoon relaxing in the gorgeous water after the tough hike just capped off one of my favorite days.”

Favorite travel memory: “When I was 15, I helped found the Vietnam Service Learning Club. For one of our projects, we visited Pleiku in central Vietnam. When we arrived there, we were very confused as to why kids were running up to us to see and take pictures of our group. Unbeknownst to us, Pleiku barely had any foreign visitors since the Vietnam War. The city felt secluded and stuck-in-time, in the best way possible. It was a very bizarre and beautiful experience where we got to work alongside schools, orphanages, and temples firsthand. It’s still, to this day, one of the most unique places I’ve been to, and I like to think we had a positive impact.”

Favorite travel memory: “While returning to college in Philadelphia from winter break in Romania, my journey didn’t go as planned due to unexpected snowstorms. While I was waiting in Warsaw during a layover, my flight got canceled. As a result, I found myself staying in Poland for three days. Despite the unexpected delay, I decided to make the most of my time and explore the city of Warsaw. It turned out to be a delightful experience as I had the opportunity to discover new places, immerse myself in the local culture, and even make new friends along the way. Although the circumstances were challenging, the unexpected detour allowed me to create memorable moments and broaden my horizons.”
